Toša is a new project by Klára Pudláková and Michal Wróblewski. In it, they present their own compositions combined with unrestrained and unpredictable improvisation. The duo's music ranges from poignant and straightforwardly melodic songs through soundscapes to wild rhythmic fury. Together they explore the possibilities of combining saxophone and double bass and experiment with the references of different musical traditions and their combinations. Klára Pudláková is an established Czech bassist and composer who leads or co-leads the ensembles Maomah, Pudlax, Avokaduo, Uthando and a duo with a Danish vibraphonist Viktoria Sondergaard, and composes for all of them. She collaborates with various artists across a wide range of genres, from jazz to contemporary music to interdisciplinary dance and theatre performances. Michal Wróblewski is a Czech composer and saxophonist with Polish roots who co-leads the ensembles E Converso, JWQ and Karm, composes chamber music for a variaty of performers and ensembles and collaborates with improvisers from all over the world.

The fifth edition of the international festival of improvised and experimental music n:ear will bring artists from ten countries to various venues in Banská Štiavnica. n:ear suggests close and attentive listening, focused and perceptive hearing and promises an intense spectator and listener experience. In addition to concerts, the festival also presents lectures, site-specific performances, workshops, author readings and film screenings.
