At this year's n:ear festival we will create a local E/I XXL orchestra working together on a concert joined by some of the original Copenhagen-based ensemble E/I.
E/I is a Copenhagen-based band focusing purely on sound emission and intention.
The group was founded in 2018 by drummer and composer Szymon Gąsiorek in order to explore these elements with a deep involvement. The effect is a big collective sound serving for a common enjoyment of rich content in a minimal form. It can be defined as acoustic ambient or modern spiritual music. The music is universal. It is accessible and attractive to music enthusiasts. The musicians from Sweden, Denmark, Italy and Poland met in Copenhagen, where they all studied at Rhythmic Music Conservatory or Royal Danish Academy of Music. The group released three albums - E/I - emission/intention (2019, Love & Beauty Music), extension/immersion (2023, on Polish accomplished label Instant Classic, recorded at Brønshøj Water Tower) and Explicit Isolation (2024, on Slovak label mappa), which features guest musicians as Kaja Draksler on organ, Samo Kutin on hurdy-gurdy and Rasmus Svale on tuba.
